THIS REPORT DISCUSSES A NEW FOUR-WHEEL ANTILOCK BRAKE SYSTEM THAT EMPLOYS "SELECT HIGH" LOGIC FOR THE FRONT WHEELS AND "SELECT LOW" LOGIC FOR THE REAR WHEELS. THIS NEW BRAKE SYSTEM IS CAPABLE OF RETAINING SUFFICIENT VEHICLE STABILITY AND STEERABILITY DURING PANIC BRAKING. UNLIKE ITS PREDECESSOR, THIS SYSTEM DOES NOT RESULT IN SIGNIFICANTLY GREATER STOPPING DISTANCES ON ROUGH OR GRAVEL ROADS, AND ITS STRUCTURE CAN BE SIMPLIFIED.
