The special properties of halogen lamps are described, i.e., incandescent lamps with halogen additives. These lamps have a higher filament luminance than conventional incandescent lamps of the same lamp life. There is no blackening of the bulb wall. With these lamps a substantial improvement of the beams of motorcar headlights is made possible. (A)
