A roundabout is the safest kind of intersection, because there are fewer conflict zones, because speed is lower, and impact angles are smaller than at a conventional intersection. In second place come prioritised intersections. Signalised intersections come in third.
Furthermore, a new intersection has recently been introduced: the bow-legged intersection. It is, however, still too early to include the bow-legged intersection in the list above, since bow-legged intersections have not yet sufficiently been evaluated.
