LEVITATE Deliverables: The potential safety impacts of ADAS technologies

The European LEVITATE project aims to develop tools to help policy makers prepare for the arrival of Connected & Automated Transport Systems (CATS). The project started December 1st, 2018 and the first deliverables are now available online.

Among them is Deliverable D6.1: Defining the future of passenger car transport. SWOV researcher Rins de Zwart, MSc contributed to chapter 3, where current ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), i.e., SAE level 1 and 2 systems, and their impacts are discussed. The predicted impacts of several ADAS are compared with the actual observed impacts, giving insight in prediction errors.
