Updated fact sheet: Road deaths in the Netherlands

In 2022, there were 745 road deaths in the Netherlands, an increase of 163 compared to 2021, according to CBS statistics. Nearly 40% were cyclists and 30% were car occupants.

TRENDLINE: Continuation and refinement of data collection for safety indicators

With the EU project TRENDLINE - which is led by SWOV - 29 European countries will collect so-called risk indicators for road safety, also known as Key Performance Indicators or KPIs. The predecessor of TRENDLINE was the European project BASELINE.
