Dr Wendy Weijermars is research manager of the ‘Infrastructure and Traffic’ department and is involved in various research projects in this area. Wendy is also active internationally. She was part of the steering committees of the EU projects SafetyCube and LEVITATE, and participated in several ITF/OECD working groups.
Over the past years, she was the project manager responsible for projects related to road safety monitoring and forecasting. In addition, Wendy performed an evaluation of Sustainable Safety and carried out research into injuries, consequences of injuries and the burden impact of serious road accident injuries. As such she has a broad knowledge on road safety.
In 2007, Wendy Weijermars obtained her PhD at the University of Twente on the thesis Analysis of urban traffic patterns using clustering.
