SWOV is involved in several international projects. In this way SWOV can contribute from her expertise on road safety and can stay informed on the latest developments in the field. One such project is the project 'SHAPE-IT'.
SHAPE-IT aims to facilitate safe, acceptable and desirable integration of user-centered and transparent automated vehicles into mixed urban traffic environments. In a total of four years, 15 PhD-students will perform research, together with supervisors from academia and industry.
The project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme. SWOV contributes as associate partner in answering questions policymakers and other road traffic professionals are confronted with.
