Dr Maartje de Goede is specialized in the topic of human factors and traffic safety. She has broad experience in managing and executing studies into the behaviour of road users in relation to the traffic environment and the vehicle. Currently, Maartje is mainly involved in many activities related to the subject of self-driving vehicles and light electrical vehicles (LEVs).
Maartje has participated in several working groups, both at home and abroad. From 2011 to 2013 she was a member of the PIARC Technical Committee Road Tunnel Operation, in the working group on influencing the user’s behaviour in tunnels. In 2014 she worked as a guest researcher at the Institute of Transport Economics (TØI) in Oslo, Norway.
Maartje de Goede studied Psychology and Cognitive Neuroscience at Utrecht University. In 2009, she obtained her PhD on the thesis Gender differences in spatial cognition.
