Project EDWARD: European Day Without A Road Death

Event date:
19 Sep 2018

A day without fatalities on European roads. That's the aim of Project Edward each year. The project, which was launched in 2016, is an initiative of TISPOL, the European joint venture of police in the field of road safety. This year's date is Wednesday 19 September.

In the framework of EDWARD, ROV Oost-Nederland is realizing the 'empty chairs' project with municipalities. The 148 empty seats are in Overijssel and Gelderland to commemorate the traffic casualties and to make people aware of the number of fatalities in the eastern part of the Netherlands.

Project EDWARD is supported by all 30 TISPOL member countries and encourages everyone to sign the pledge to make 19 September a European day without road deaths.
