ICTCT conference

Event date:
25 Oct 2018

On 25-26th October 2018 th ICTCT conference will be held in Porto, Portugal. The main topic will be: 'On the track of future urban mobility: safety, human factors and technology'. The conference will be organised in close co-operation with the Research Centre for Territory, Transports and Environment, Faculty of Engineering, University of Porto, Portugal.

The objective of the conference is to support the understanding of future trends in urban mobility and their implications for the safety of all road users.

An important aspect in this respect is that technological developments must go hand in hand with users’ acceptance and behaviour. Therefore, we are interested in studies analysing topics such as the role of human factors in road safety and how technology advancement in urban transportation can influence road users and vice versa. Contributions featuring innovative methods and tools for the assessment of road safety and the reduction of the impacts of road crashes in cities, particularly focusing on vulnerable road users, are also welcomed.

A non-exhaustive list of topics includes::

  • Emerging data for road safety;
  • Sustainable urban mobility and technology development;
  • Safety assessment for urban transport planning;
  • Automated driving: levels of automation, public acceptance, and ethical considerations;• Interaction between road users, vehicles and infrastructure;
  • Interaction between different types of road users: drivers, pedestrians and cyclists;
  • Driver information systems and driver distraction;
  • The contribution of technology to a safe systems strategy.
  • The objective of the conference is to support the understanding of future trends in urban mobility and their implications for the safety of all road users.
