Article: Adherence to driving cessation advice given to patients with cognitive impairment and consequences for mobility

SWOV researchers Davidse and Doumen contributed to the article 'Adherence to driving cessation advice given to patients with cognitive impairment and consequences for mobility'. Driving is related to social participation. Therefore, older drivers may be reluctant to stop driving.

The aim of this study is to investigate whether patients with cognitive disorders adhere to the advice to stop driving after an assessment of fitness to drive. Consequences with regard to mobility is also looked at.
