Passenger cars
By far most kilometres are travelled by passenger car. This means that, although the car is a relatively safe means of transport, every year there are many casualties among their drivers and passengers. Of all vehicle types, the car has seen the most safety developments in the past decades. The developments were particularly concerned with the crashworthiness, but several other elements and measures also were important.
