Here, a distinction has to be made between who the user is. Most applications (and their many variations) seem to be aimed at the individual road user, while road authorities can look forward primarily to developments in the field of TMS (Traffic Management Systems) and ISA (Intelligent Speed Adapter). The advantages associated with the systems (including the advantages related to improving safety) seem to be great, but their threats to safety should not be underestimated. Although currently the most difficult path to take, having both kinds of developments occur synthetically would seem best.
