How dangerous are road works?
Road maintenance work disturbs the road image and influences road users' driving behaviour. This may cause dangerous situations for both road workers and road users, and may hinder the traffic flow. Drivers sometimes have difficulty in understanding traffic signs, beacons, and road markings; they often approach and pass the road works sign at high speed, resulting in them keeping too little distance, changing lanes too late, or being off course. Such behaviour can result in fatal crashes or crashes with severe injury.
