Which measures can increase road safety at road works?
In order to draw road users' attention to road works, it is important to use clear signals such as traffic signs and road markings. Traffic signals above the road and 'Andreas strips' are used to make drivers change lanes in time. Andreas strips are portable rumble strips with yellow reflective circles. Compliance with the current speed limits can be improved by the use of credible limits, and by using systems such as Dynamic Speed Information.
