Measures

Which measures can we take?

Simple measures such as improving traffic signs and introducing extra arrows on the road surface have probably already contributed to the reduction in the number of wrong-way crashes.

More drastic infrastructural measures include improving the design of entries and exits, and applying constructions that make it impossible for wrong-way drivers to drive up the exit road. However, as yet little is known about the effect, feasibility, and cost-effectiveness of the measures.

Neither do we know the effectiveness of measures which are to separate wrong-way drivers from other drivers.
