Literature information systems

If you would like any more information, other than what is available in the library, you can also ask us. SWOV has access to the TRID and ITRD information systems.

 

TRID

The Transportation Research Board and the Joint Transport Research Centre of the International Transport Forum and OECD have integrated the International Transport Research Documentation (ITRD) and the Transportation Research Information Services (TRIS) Database into a new product to be called TRID (Transport Research International Documentation).

TRID offers:

• One database to locate transport research from around the world
• More than 900,000 records available in English, French, German or Spanish
• Both the TRT and the multilingual ITRD thesaurus
• Free access to the public at http://trid.trb.org/

TRID is launched at the TRB Annual Meeting in January 2011.

ITRD

SWOV participates in the ITRD which was set up by OECD's Joint Transport Research Centre. In the IRTD file there are about 400,000 descriptions, and every year about 12,000 are added. Most of these are in English; the others are in German, French, and Spanish.
Most of the ITRD descriptions are of publications (and to a lesser extent about current research projects) about road safety transport, and related areas. More than 40 road safety institutes, worldwide, provide the necessary file information.
SWOV provides most of the Netherlands' documental information. Each month, the research results are added to the file.
The complete ITRD file is available on CD-ROM at SWOV, and can be consulted quite easily.
