Statistics Netherlands
Statistics Netherlands publishes the results of its surveys in its own series of books, journals, diskettes and cd-roms. The information is public, and at the two libraries of Statistics Netherlands, anyone can look up figures they require about the Netherlands. As Statistics Netherlands also has a huge collection of international publications, the Dutch figures can be placed in an international perspective. Recent Statistics Netherlands data are usually also available at university libraries and public libraries in the Netherlands and at the library of the "Haus der Niederlande" (Münster).

CROW Documentation centre
The documentation centre contains publications, reports, conference presentations and magazines related to traffic, transport and infrastructure. The documentation department carries out search assignments for interested parties. External parties can also search for literature in the documentation centre. Every month, a documentation overview is drawn up containing magazine articles and publications that have been entered that month. This overview can be found on the Intranet and Internet web site (only on the dutch web site). Both employees and external parties can request copies of magazine articles. At the end of each calendar year, the monthly overviews are combined in an annual overview.

Federal Highway Administration Research Library
The FHWA Research Library exists to serve the information needs of FHWA employees. The FHWA Research Library will answer questions from the general public as time permits. Non-FHWA employees looking for copies of FHWA reports should see "Sources for FHWA Reports."

Forschungsgesellschaft für Strassen- und Verkehrswesen
Die FGSV unterhält eine Informations- und Dokumentationsstelle und eine umfangreiche Spezialbibiliothek auf den Gebieten des Strassen- und Verkehrswesens. Sammelschwerpunkte sind Verkehrsplanung, Strassenentwurf, Strassenverkehr, Strassenbau und -erhaltung, Tunnel- und Brückenbau. Hinzu kommt eine Sammlung strassenhistorischer Literatur.

Harmer E. Davis Transportation Library
Established in 1948, the Harmer E. Davis Transportation Library houses one of the pre-eminent transportation collections in the U.S., and is the country's oldest university transportation library.  The Library serves the research needs of the Institute of Transportation Studies and the University of California statewide. With joint sponsorship by the California Dept. of Transportation and the Federal Highway Administration, the Library provides free, specialized services to California public agencies through the Technology Transfer Program.  The Library holds over 165,000 volumes. Holdings also include about 4000 serial titles, over 1000 of which are currently received (this figure includes annual reports and monographic series). Additionally, there are over 130,000 items on microfiche. Over 80% of all of our monograph cataloging is original. That, combined with our original cataloging of journal articles, results in an average monthly total of over 550 originally cataloged records.

Highway Safety Research Center Library
Research Publications of the University of North Carolina Highway Safety Research Center. The HSRC Library provides access to traffic safety research information from the United States, and around the world. Library collections reflect the focus of the Center's research, and concentrate on human factors, civil engineering, and design of facilities for pedestrians, cyclists, and motor vehicles.

Institute of Transport Economics InfoCentre
The main objectives of the Institute are to carry out applied research on issues connected with transport and to promote the application of research results by advising the authorities, the transport industry and the public at large. Its sphere of activity includes most of the current major issues in road, rail, sea and air transport. The Institute is also involved in international cooperation within the transport sector.

National Library of The Netherlands
Major activities of the National Library are: Preservation, management, documentation and accessibility of the national cultural heritage; Deposit library for Dutch printed and electronic publications and the national bibliography; Research library for the humanities and social sciences; Centre of expertise for digitization, preservation and restoration; Netherlands Union Catalogue and ILL-coordination; Research and development of scholarly information; International focal point for libraries; and Support for cooperation between libraries. The library holds 3,3 million items = more than 67 km of library materials, including 48 km of books (2.5 million), 18 km of periodicals (including 15,000 current periodicals) and more than 1 km of microforms.

National Transportation Library (NTL)
Charged with improvingthe availability of transportation-related information needed by Federal, state,and local decision-makers, the National Transportation Library's (NTL) missionis to increase timely access to the information that supports transportation policy, research, operations, and technology transfer activities. The NTL was established in 1998 through the Transportation Equity Act for the 21st Century and serves as a repository of materials from public, academic and private organizations. The National Transport ation Library is administered by the Bureau of Transportation Statistics in cooperation with its federal, state, and local partners.

NHTSA Publications Catalog
Our Safety Materials Catalog contains publications released by our Office of Traffic Safety Programs. Traffic Safety encompasses Communication and Outreach, Injury Control and Traffic Safety Research. The NHTSA Publications Catalog, a supplement to the Safety Materials Catalog, offers publications generated and released by all other offices within NHTSA.   The Publications Catalog offers access to reports, research studies, testing procedures and results - where available, statistics, procedures for motor vehicles and motor vehicle equipment, and other consumer-related materials offered by NHTSA.

Northwestern University Transportation Library
The Transportation Library was founded in 1958 to support the curricula and research programs of the Transportation Center and the Center for Public Safety of Northwestern University, including the School of Police Staff and Command. Containing over 400,000 items, the Transportation Library of Northwestern University is one of the largest transportation information centers in the world, encompassing information on all transportation modalities, including: air, rail, highway, pipeline, water, urban transport and logistics. It includes a significant collection on law enforcement, police management and traffic enforcement. Its collection of environmental impact statements is one of the most complete in the world.  The Transportation Library's staff produce two major bibliographic resources, Current Literature in Traffic and Transportation, published quarterly, and TRAN, a web based periodical index of transportation and law enforcement articles and conference proceedings.

Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA)
The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents is a registered charity which was established over 80 years ago. Providing information, advice, resources and training, RoSPA is actively involved in the promotion of safety in all areas of life - at work, in the home, and on the roads, in schools, at leisure and on or near water. RoSPA aims to campaign for change, influence opinion, contribute to debate, educate and inform - for the good of all.

Swedish National Road Administration Library
The library contains Swedish and foreign literature on the design, construction and maintenance of roads, bridges and tunnels as well as on road traffic safety, the environment, transport and vehicle technology.

Swedish National Road and Transport Research Institute (VTI) Library and Information Centre
VTI Library and Information Centre (BIC) collects, organizes, stores and disseminates information in the field of transport and communication research. On our pages you can read more about the services we can offer, mainly to people living in Sweden.

Transportation Association of Canada Library
The TAC library contains thousands of volumes, covering all facets of transportation. As well as Canadian reports from all levels of government, universities, associations and the private sector, the library has a significant collection of documents from international organizations. These include the U.S. Transportation Research Board (TRB), the British Transport Research Laboratory (TRL), the Australian Road Research Board (ARRB) and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).

Transport Canada Library Services
Library services are available to Transport Canada departmental personnel through the TC libraries network. The general public is welcome to visit the library and use the resources on site. The Ottawa site contains more than 100,000 books and technical reports on transportation and related topics. It subscribes to more than 300 periodicals and serials and maintains an extensive collection of reports, studies and reviews generated by Transport Canada, as well as other major transportation organizations. Interlibrary loans are available for Transport Canada employees if the materials are not found in the library's collection.

Transport Research Laboratory (TRL) Library
TRL is an independent, internationally recognised centre of excellence in surface transport issues. The organisation provides research based technical help which enables customers to obtain improved value for money, generate competitive advantage and a better understanding of transport problems. TRL employs around 500 staff with a wide range of professional disciplines, among them mathematicians, physicists, psychologists, engineers, geologists, computer experts and statisticians. Facilities include a state of the art driving simulator, a new indoor impact test facility, a 3.8 km test track, a separate self-contained road network, a structures hall. extensive library and conference centre.

Transportation Association of Canada Library
This database contains records for the complete TAC library collection; over 15,000 documents in all. The catalogue includes references to journal articles, conference proceedings, research reports, manuals, guidelines and textbooks covering all facets of surface transportation. The collection includes the publications of all major Canadian transportation agencies as well as many significant international organizations. These include the U.S. Transportation Research Board, AASHTO, the OECD, International Road Federation, U.S. Federal Highway Administration, Australian Road Research Board, and many others.

 

Transportation Research Board (TRB) Library
The TRB Library is the primary archive for publications of the Transportation Research Board, Highway Research Board, Strategic Highway Research Program, and the Marine Board.  The library was founded in 1946 to provide information services to TRB staff, sponsors, TRB committees and panels, and researchers.

TRIS Online
The TRIS Database contains almost half a million records of references to books, technical reports, conference proceedings, journal articles and on-going research in the field of transportation.

Turner-Fairbank Highway Research Center Library
The Turner-Fairbank Highway Research Center (TFHRC) is a federally owned and operated research facility in McLean, Virginia. TFHRC is the home of the Federal Highway Administration's (FHWA's) Office of Research, Development, and Technology. TFHRC provides FHWA and the world highway community with the most advanced research and development related to new highway technologies. The research focuses on providing solutions to complex technical problems through the development of more economical, environmentally sensitive designs; more efficient, quality controlled constructions practices; and more durable materials. The end result is a safer, more reliable highway transportation system.

Underage Drinking Enforcement Training Center
The Training Center develops publications to assist states and communities in the enforcement of underage drinking laws. Underlined publications are available for downloading.

University of Michigan Transportation Research Institute (UMTRI)
The Research Information and Publications Center (RIPC) is charged with editing and disseminating all of UMTRI's research reports. The RIPC also publishes a staff newsletter, the UMTRI Research Review, and the Work in Progress bulletin. The main feature of the RIPC, however, is UMTRI's library, which houses one of the world's most extensive collections of literature on traffic safety. It reflects the diversity of disciplines that the field comprises: accidents and injuries, biomechanics, human factors, vehicle dynamics, driver behavior, and public policy. The collection is also strong in the areas of intelligent transportation systems, the trucking industry, shipbuilding, and the automotive industry. The library does not offer an interlibrary loan service, but will provide photocopies for a fee.
