About SWOV
Mission
SWOV wants to make a contribution to the improvement of road safety by using knowledge from scientific research.
SWOV is an independent, scientific institute. SWOV's knowledge is public information and it is made available to anyone who is (professionally) involved in traffic and road safety, both in the Netherlands and abroad.
Its knowledge and high quality research have given SWOV recognition as a leading institute, in the Netherlands as well as abroad.
Cooperation
SWOV aims at inter-disciplinary cooperation between researchers within the institute, and with other research institutions in the Netherlands and abroad.
SWOV takes account of its surroundings when deciding upon its research programme. The target groups' requirements determine SWOV's activities. The interaction with others is also leading in the research and in the knowledge dissemination.
