Support Groups

SWOV uses Support Groups to ensure that the choice and design of research and its results fit the practical needs. Members of the Support Groups have relevant knowledge and a connection with SWOV research. They ensure that the research projects are constantly being fed and tested in practice by road safety professionals.

Representatives from national, provincial, and municipal governments, and from water boards are at the core of these Support Groups. The groups are further supplemented with representatives of research institutes, advisory bodies, universities, colleges of higher education, police, interest groups, etc.

Four advisory groups have been formed for the Four-year programme 2007-2010:
